Frequently asked questions

  • What can the ID Prodigy course help me accomplish?
ID Prodigy will help you build instructional design skills and apply them to create a portfolio. ID Prodigy will expedite your absorption into the industry even before holding a formal instructional design job. How? Because we absorb the training time corporates would have had to invest. You’ll hit the ground running. And if you already hold an ID job, with our mentors’ guidance, you will be able to set yourself apart as an instructional designer who goes above and beyond the instructions given to them. You will learn to add value to the product, no matter what specific role you are assigned in the development cycle.
  • How is this course different from other courses?
ID prodigy is unique for its emphasis on practice and feedback. There are tonnes of free videos on LinkedIn and YouTube and hundreds of low-price video and quiz based “courses” on Udemy. You are here because you understand that learning is passive. It does not get you to apply what you have watched. It does not get you feedback on your work. ID Prodigy breaks down concepts, principles and frameworks used in learning solutions into bite-sized, practical lessons. You will start applying what you learn to real deliverables within the first two modules. Once you have a draft of your deliverable ready, you get in-depth, constructive feedback from experienced instructional designers. Throughout the course, you will: Learn instructional design principles and apply them to the given content. Interact with an eLearning team with over 45 years of combined experience. Receive guidance on design and visual layout guidelines. Receive and implement feedback.
  • What is the guarantee of this course helping me?
The outcome of this course will depend upon your own effort and commitment to implementing feedback. What we do guarantee is personalised feedback and adequate support throughout the course that you are unlikely to find in any other course. This is not a passive course, it entails active participation from both sides: yours and ours.
  • Does ID Prodigy guarantee me a job?
We do not guarantee a job. We do guarantee a personalised learning experience like none other. Since you will be embarking on a hands-on journey with our team, based on your interactions, your output, your attitude throughout the course, we will be happy to post testimonials on your LinkedIn profile highlighting personal strengths and professional highlights you demonstrate. We may also offer a contractual placement with The Growth Perspective if your work during the length of the course is outstanding.
  • Why is this course more expensive than the ones available on Udemy and LinkedIn by similar professionals and industry experts?
The price reflects the level of personalised feedback and support that you will receive once you join the course. Courses available on these other platforms are passive information-based courses. When you enrol in ID Prodigy, our team begins investing in your success. You are paying for: Guidance from industry professionals. Gaining real-world experience. Applying knowledge and building working experience with a real team. $640 is an introductory price for the time and personalised guidance we provide to each participant. If you would like to lock in this price, we recommend that you apply and enrol as soon as you are sure that the program is the right fit for you.
  • What should I do if I have additional questions about the course?
If you can’t find the answer to your questions in this extensive list of FAQs, please email us at info@thegrowthperspective.com. We will get back to you within one working day.
  • What background knowledge do I need to join the course?
English language proficiency is all you need and that’s a given for any content writer or instructional designer. ID Prodigy is designed to take you from novice or beginner to a professional instructional designer
  • How do I enrol in the course?
Simply fill out the form. Once we receive the duly filled form and respond to your questions (if any), you will receive a payment link to enrol.
  • What software and tools will I need to complete this course?
You do not need to purchase any software to complete the course. You may use trial versions (details below). You will need access to reliable internet. The course can be accessed on tablets, smartphones and personal computers. However, you will need access to a computer for working on the deliverables: MS Excel and Word for the design docs and storyboards. If you do not have an MS Office subscription, you may opt to use Google Docs and Sheets. A trial version of Articulate 360. (Free trial available for 30 days, no credit card required.) If you wish to dabble in visual design yourself during your portfolio project, you may use the trial versions of: Vyond for animated videos (free trial available for 2 weeks) Canva (30 days) if you wish to explain your visual ideas to the design team. These, however, are not necessary and depend entirely on how much you want to try by yourself.

  • Is there a daily or weekly time commitment for the course?
You should set the pace based on your availability. Committing an hour or two every week would be good practice. Some may spend 1-2 hours per week on their projects; others may be at liberty to treat the course as a full-time commitment. Whatever pace you decide, TGP’s team has your back! We help you achieve your goals irrespective of how slow or fast you choose to go.
  • How long do I get access to the course?
Once you join the course, your access does not expire. You may refer to the content for as long as you require. You will get access to all future content updates to the course.
  • How much feedback and support will I receive?
There are three components to the feedback, support and mentorship you receive in ID Prodigy: Peer-to-peer learning: You'll receive feedback and support by asking questions in our private forums. Towards the end of the course, you will also receive feedback on your prototype from your cohort, TGP’s team and the SMEs. Team interactions: You will receive two to three rounds of professional reviews on each of your deliverables so that you can truly enhance your output. Mentorship: For further clarifications and guidance, we will provide mentorship as and when required via emails or an invitation to a 1-on-1 meeting.
  • How long do I get the mentorship?
You will receive personalised feedback on your course deliverables as and when you submit them. Once you complete the course and make your final presentation, you may wish to extend the mentorship programme for an annual fee of $1000.
